Company Profile

KINWA Lathe | Your Best Choice for Lathes

The history of CHIN HUNG MACHINERY CO., LTD. began in 1968, when founder Mr. C. F. Chang started a machining business with a single lathe on Zhongxiao Road in Taichung City.

In 1973, CHIN HO Machinery Factory was established and began manufacturing lathes. In 1980, the company was reorganized as CHIN HUNG MACHINERY CO., LTD. KINWA Lathe is the lathe brand of CHIN HUNG MACHINERY CO., LTD., with “金和車床” as its Chinese brand name. The company specializes in the development, manufacturing, and global sales of manual lathes and CNC lathes.

Starting with a single lathe, KINWA has developed extensive capabilities in lathe design, precision machining, assembly, and quality control. Today, we provide reliable, durable, precise, and easy-to-maintain lathe solutions for a wide range of industries, workpieces, and machining requirements.

KINWA Lathe — Best Choice for Lathes.

CHIN HUNG’s development began in Taichung. In 1973, CHIN HO Machinery Factory was established and began manufacturing lathes. In 1980, the company relocated to Daya District, Taichung City, and was reorganized as CHIN HUNG MACHINERY CO., LTD., continuing to expand its manufacturing capacity and overseas markets.

In response to increasing production demand, a dedicated CNC facility was established in 1996 and officially began operations in 1997. Over the years, KINWA has continued to adjust its manufacturing capacity according to market and customer needs, while focusing on lathe structure, spindle systems, bed rigidity, machining accuracy, and operational stability.

From general metalworking to heavy-duty cutting, long-shaft machining, and large-workpiece machining, every KINWA model is designed around practical machining requirements.

Since 1980, CHIN HUNG has worked with Kingston Machine Tool Mfg., Inc. to expand into the U.S. market under the KINGSTON brand. Beginning in 1985, the company entered the Japanese market through OEM cooperation with G-NET CORPORATION, supplying lathes under the HAMAMATSUKOKI brand. Machines exported to Japan were also inspected by JMI at the time, providing an important foundation for CHIN HUNG’s international market development.

Manual Lathe and CNC Lathe Products

KINWA offers a wide range of manual lathes and CNC lathes to meet different requirements for machining size, accuracy, production volume, and operating methods.

Our main products include:

Manual Lathes

KINWA manual lathes are engineered for structural rigidity, ease of operation, machining stability, and long-term reliability. They are suitable for general machining, maintenance work, technical education, mold and die production, component manufacturing, and high-mix, low-volume production.

CNC Lathes

KINWA CNC lathes are available with different bed configurations and control systems to suit specific workpiece requirements, production volumes, tooling arrangements, and automation needs.

Main Industries and Applications for KINWA Lathes

KINWA lathes are suitable for:

  • General metalworking
  • Industrial machinery and components
  • Automotive and transportation components
  • Mold and fixture machining
  • Energy and power transmission components
  • Long-shaft and large-workpiece machining
  • Maintenance and one-off machining
  • Technical education and vocational training

The appropriate machine model should be evaluated according to workpiece diameter, length, weight, material, required machining accuracy, cutting load, and production requirements.

Lathe Solutions Based on Actual Machining Requirements

Selecting the right lathe involves more than comparing price or a single specification. Workpiece characteristics, machining processes, operator skill levels, available floor space, and future production requirements all influence machine selection.

KINWA can assist customers in evaluating:

  • Workpiece material, diameter, and length
  • Spindle bore and bed length
  • Machining accuracy and surface finish
  • General cutting or heavy-duty cutting requirements
  • One-off, high-mix low-volume, or mass production
  • Manual lathe or CNC lathe selection
  • Horsepower, spindle speed, and torque requirements
  • Control systems and tooling configurations
  • Optional accessories and special specifications
  • Factory space and equipment layout

Our goal is not to offer the machine with the most specifications, but to help customers select the lathe best suited to their actual machining conditions.
